Now, I am not a coach, a professional or someone who gets paid to write about running. I am just a chic who happened to fall in love with running a few years back and loves to share about the ups and downs of the sport. I have been joining in on the bloggy running community for a while now, giving my take on injuries, setbacks and of course, celebrating when we have achieved a running goal. I thought it was time though, that I step up and let you all in on what's going on in my day to day running life.
I have goals, I have made some great achievements this year and I want to share it with all of you.
Right now, I am nursing an injury that should be all healed by the end of the week. Then it's back to full time training to hit my ultimate goal: BQ on December 6th at the California International Marathon! My plan is a bit of a hodge-podge of running plans. It is part SmartCoach and part Pete Pfitzinger. My problem with these plans though, is that they always want me to run at such a SLOW pace for many of my long runs. I just can't do it. I am no speed demon, but I can no longer do a run at a 9:20 pace. I just tire out too quickly. So aside from the pace of my long runs, it is a good mix of the two.
I often find myself on my runs blogging already in my head. I am thinking about my blogging buddies out there on their own long runs or at their own races. I want an outlet to be able to let you all know if I finished that hard run or a place where I can personally congratulate you if you did a kick-ass job at your race or your own long run. It's time for me to be accountable.
I honestly think that the blog will keep me on track. Not that I ever skip a planned run, but sometimes I know my heart just isn't in it, and I want a place to remind me that I am running for myself but also maybe, just possibly, for someone else that day.
I am also no computer guru. I am a tax accountant. Not all accountants are boring! But it may take me a bit of time to make my blog all cute and fancy like the rest of them. So be patient please! And I promise, I will make this blog an honest outlet for my own running life and hopefully a positive place for all of you.

I assure you as you start to blog you will find that blogging will be as necessary to your training as the training itself. Where the non-runner's in your life don't get what you're doing the runner's here will pick up the slack and help you through all the rough patches and injuries and give you more support than you could ever dream of!
